Poetry: Free

The depths of me,
Unexplored.
Inside the closet,
The graveyard of skeletons.
Monsters I'm not even sure,
I've faced.
Whether that's by choice,
Or not....I do not know.
Truth is,
I'm scared to face them,
To be eaten alive.
By myself,
Like its inevitable.
The red eyes that peak at me,
Under the bed where I rest my mind.
The scariest beast of all of them.
I have not the courage,
But to glance at it.
And hide back under the blanket I've made,
Inside me.
I dodge the topic.
Return the armor given to me,
For protection while I fight it.
I've refused for so many years.
But it seems the low growl is getting louder,
These days.
Beyond the point of ignoring it.
It's dripping fangs moist near my ears.
Finally I suit up, it's time.
Will I win?
Who knows.
But I walk up, strong..ready.
Look into those crimson eyes and whisper....
"Forgiveness.....we finally meet in person,
Let's do this."
The blood flows,
But I'm too scared to peen my eyes to see who's it is.
I peak.
Not my own.
I walk away leaving the body, armor, and baggage I've carried now for years.
Into a light in my heart, beautiful enough to bring me to tears.
And my heart whispers,
"We're free."

Dedicated to My Daughters

I want to be,
Their rock.
A foundation,
They can grow their dreams on.
I want to be,
A star in their life's sky,
To wish upon and give direction.
I want to be,
A song in their heart,
Of love and hope....
In their darkest times.
I want to be,
A woman of strength,
To show them their own.
I want tone beautiful,
And show them it's not materials that show it.
I want to be a source of compassion,
That can always be there for them,
And never be judged.
I want to be,
Everything my little girls...
Already are.

Dedicated to: Izy and Zoey , my beautiful daughters

Sleepy Time

Eyes as heavy as a rock,
just sitting here I watch the clock.
I pray for sleep,
For what it used to be.
When I would get more hrs than 3.
the exhausted look,
Doesn't suit me well.
My makeup smears,
And I cry like hell.
I tell myself this too will pass,
And will be memories in a looking glass.
But until that time,
Here I sit.
As cranky as a two year old fit.
so I wish I may I wish I might,
Just maybe get some sleep tonight.
Because if its anything under two,
I don't think another coffee pot will do.
he'll come home to world war 3,
And take over the kids,
So I sleep peacefully.
